Shane Lalor has put together a list of proposed Sportives for club members to take part in for 2017 - please click here for the list.

The club will hold its AGM at Dunboyne Castle on Thursday 2nd February at 8pm. Club members should make every effort to come along as it is everyone's club and there are a number of positions to be filled going forward for 2017. We look forward to seeing you there.

All at Dunboyne CC would like to wish everyone a very happy new year for 2017. Don't forget, we meet every Saturday and Sunday for our weekly spins and welcome cyclists of all levels and abilities.

December 2016:

All at the club would like to wish Timmy O’Regan all the best as he departs for Team Aqua Blue for the upcoming season. Timmy has been with Dunboyne CC for many years and achieved some memorable results along the way.

November 2016:

Just a reminder that the previously planned AGM for 17-Nov-16 has been postponed. Could club members please keep an eye on their emails for the revised date. A number of committee positions are open for next year, so please have a think as to whether you would like to be more involved in the club.

October 2016:

As the clocks have gone back, we'll be back to our previous meet-up time of 10am every Saturday and Sunday in the main square, Dunboyne for our usual spins. Hope to see you there.

September 2016:

24th / 25th Sept - Massive well done to club member Declan Doherty who incredibly did 126 laps of the hill of Tara - equivalanet to riding up Everest - in raising funds for Downsyndrome Ireland. An incredible achievement and for such a great cause too. Well done Declan!
 

11th Sept - Cillian Whelan came 2nd A2 in the Leinster Road Champs / Laragh Classic over in Laragh, Co Wicklow. Well done Cillian, fantastic way to round off a great season.

August 2016:

12th Aug - There will be no official club spin tomorrow (Saturday, 13th) - instead we will meet at the square in Dunboyne at 8:30am and ride over to Maynooth to support the Cycle for Mark event which starts at 9am.

7th Aug - Another well done to Finbar Smith, who finished the A4 race in 8th place at the Collins Christle Memorial on Sunday - only a stone's throw from A3 now Finbar!

July 2016:

31st July - Cillian Whelan kept his good form going over the weekend, getting 7th place at the inaugural Oldcastle GP, promoted by TC Racing - Oldcastle Cycling Club. That should move Cillian up to A2 now. Great stuff Cillian.

24th July - Another great weekend on the roads - only a month or so after his first race, James Ronan bagged yet another 4th place, meaning Mr Consistent has now been upgraded to A3. Well done James, making this racing lark look easy!

Also well done to Barry Gardner who took 6th place in the Brendan Campbell memorial race yesterday and Finbar Smith who was 10th in the Shannonside GP yesterday.

Today also saw a great turnout from the club at the Meath Heritage cycle over in Trim.

Well done to all!

17th July - More great results keep coming in, as Cillian Whelan took 3rd place in the A3 race and James Ronan 4th in the A4 over at the Mullingar GP today - well done to both!

Fantastic performance by Finatan Ryan today in the European under 23 track champs. Fintan was paired with Mark Downey in the madison and both sat in a medal position heading into the end of the race. However they were to loose a lap in that phase to finish a creditable 9th. Well done Fintan

June 2106:

28th June - Dunboyne CC will host round 5 of the Corkagh Park Womens Racing Series this Tuesday. Sign on from 6.30pm with the B race starting at 7pm followed by the A/A- race.

As if the weekend couldn’t get any better, Simon Tuomey took the A2 title in the Munster Road Race Champs held in Blarney, Co Cork yesterday.

As well as that, Fintan Ryan became the National Omnium champion after basing himself with the national track squad this year.

5th June - Javan Nulty wins the Meath GP! Also well done to Declan Gollogly who took 8th in the A3 - only a few points away from an upgrade to A2 now!

Quick reminder for anybody looking to come out on the club spins, that for the rest of the summer we'll be meeting at 9am instead of the usual 10am.

May 2016:

The sun has set on another Ras. Well done to all 5 riders who made it to Skerries this week. Thanks to John, Colm, Maura and Megan who put in a super effort all week supporting the team. Well done also to Jack Whelan who was mechanic on the German team. Thanks to Brona O'Sullivan for supporting us through the preparation and well done to Stephen O'Sullivan on another great route.

23rd May - An Post Ras stage 2: The guys are all in. Javan 35th & Niall 109th finished in the first group 11 seconds behind the winner. Alan 116th, Eoin 135th and Eugene 143rd finished in the next group. Well done guys. Next stop......The Kingdom!

22nd May - An eventful first day in the An Post Ras saw mixed fortunes for the team. Alan was 70th after recovering from crash. Javan and Eoin finished safely in 74th and 75th. Other crash victims Niall and Eugene came in 127th and 155th. John Wall has reported all are ready for day two despite the bruises. Well done guys. Keep it up.

15th May - Lot going on today. Firstly, well done to Diarmuid who bagged a top 20 A2 result in the notoriously difficult Shay Elliott. Great riding Diarmuid. 
We also had a good few members down at the Tour of Lough Der, promoted by North Tipp Wheelers. A great day was had by all and thanks to all members who made the trip down.

11th May - Massive well done to Aishling who won her category TT ride to claim 3rd place overall in the Orwell Wheelers Women's Crit league last night!

Well done to club members Shane and Al who took part in the recent Majorca 312 challenge

April 2016:

30th April - after day 1 of the Tour of Ulster, Eugene came in with chase group, 1.50 back after doing a lot of pulling -  going very well. Fintan rode impressive and finished with Eoin (Eoin riding on Leinster squad came home in bunch after being active all day). Diarmaid unfortunately punctured. Our guest rider Roger Aiken, riding in Dunboyne CC colours is still in contention.

Great showing by the club at the recent Tour de Meath - even made the local press!

March 2016:
13th March
- Eoin continues his good form, grabbing 9th place at today's Boyne GP
11th March - Sad day for the club as Mark Dowling moves to ASEA-Wheelworx. We all know Mark is one of the top riders in the country and all at the club wish him well with his new team.
7th March - Great performance by Eoin Lynch at Ras Mhaigh Eo over the weekend. 8th on stage 1 and 3rd on stage 2b, and here he is receiving the Polkadot jersey. Great stuff Eoin, well done.

6th March - Another good showing by the club over the weekend. Timmy finished 2nd in the Newbridge GP today, just edged out in the final few meters. 
Eoin Lynch finished 8th on stage 1 of Ras Mhaigh Eo yesterday, while Aishling finished 7th in Ras Naomh Finian over in Clonard.
3rd March - Interview with Fintan Ryan in Stickybottle - “I’ve trained very hard all winter so I’ve gotten a lot stronger”

February 2016:
27th Feb - 
Great showing by the club in today's racing - Tim O'Regan taking 6th place in the Mick Lally Memorial in Summerhill, with Eoin Lynch taking 3rd unplaced A2.
Also a great performance by Finbar Smith in his first A4 race to be up there contesting the sprint. Special mention too to Diarmaid Kavanagh taking second place in the Serc TT. 
Looking like a good season ahead!
6th Feb - Saturday 6th February will see us holding our annual club night out. To make a day of it, we'll also be having an extended club spin that morning over to Blessington (for all members / all fitness levels), meeting at the usual time at the square in Dunboyne at 10am. We will also have the Club team car with us for backup/ support if required. The Geraldine Inn, Clane Road Straffan will be the venue for the coffee stop for this special spin as most coffee stops could not cater for a large group of riders. As such, could you please let Shane know asap if you plan on riding this Saturday.
